Thank you for inviting me into your home. More often than not when we visit each other in our homes, the first thing that happens is that the kettle is put on for a cup of tea or coffee. I know this may sound presumptuous ......... but why not put the kettle on and we can share a cuppa as we chat and pray together. Well, so much has happened in the last little while hasn't it? Initially of course, around the world many thought of their own needs and rushed to buy toilet paper, pasta, and rice and then hand sanitiser, meat and tinned food. Some sold their shares and others stockpiled fuel. This week as the sun has shone and we have been instructed to stay home, except for essential outings and exercise, the pace of life has slowed and certainly across our communities of Mount, Warleggan and St Neot, creative ways of keeping in touch with one another and looking out for each other's needs have come to the fore. Our communities have always been good at this and in times of hardship and need we remain mindful of the needs of our neighbours. This is good news as we struggle with the sense of uncertainty focused on what is to follow in the coming weeks and months. No one has been untouched by the disease that has indeed changed lives and communities. Hopefully the days ahead will offer respite to those who are ill, those who are lonely and those who are struggling financially, and offer to all of us, the comfort of knowing that those who live alongside us in our villages care, and are only a telephone call away.
