Projects at St. Neot Church

Ongoing work at the Church

The on-going maintenance of the Church and Churchyard
St. Neot Church are very greatful for the grant from the "Conservation Foundation" enabling this work to be carried out.

This is a mature Irish yew. The bottom branches are being pruned to prevent the tree from pushing over the old headstones. (The top of a mature Irish yew tree has lots of pointy bits, the tops of all the individual branches coming from the base), folklore has it that these trees were planted in church yards as the points prevented witches from sitting in them.

Pictured above are Jenny Hart (left) and Colin Arthur, Jane Glanville and Nick Hart (right). They were pictured in May 2015 by Graham Gittings who kindly sent in the photographic evidence!
